RECENT XBOX UPDATE INTRODUCES CARBON AWARENESS

Microsoft is releasing its February update to Xbox consoles, featuring the 'carbon aware' power option and compatibility with Google Home. The update will be available to Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One consoles. With the new 'carbon aware' mode, Xbox consoles can become up to 20 times more efficient by using regional carbon intensity data to schedule game downloads and updates during periods of lower carbon emissions, resulting in a reduction in carbon emissions.

The update also includes an 'energy-saving' option called "Shutdown" that reduces power usage by up to 20 times by disabling the console's remote wake capability. Furthermore, users can now set a solid background color by accessing the Personalization menu in the Settings application and hide the game art. The update also introduces compatibility with the Google Home app, allowing users to control their Xbox console through the app.

Lastly, Xbox is simplifying the process of connecting with friends with a new feature that allows users to select past parties to restart or create new ones and invite friends easily.
